The Journey

Abbi's journey has never been about following a straight path. It has been shaped by creativity, determination, reinvention and more than 30 years of experience in the tailoring industry.
Her fashion journey began in Lagos, Nigeria, where she established Scissorhand Couture, developing her craft and building a strong foundation in tailoring and fashion design.
She later continued her tailoring career in the United Kingdom, where, at the beginning of her sewing journey in London, her customers affectionately began calling her "Abbi Scissorhand." Abbi comes from her name, Abiola, while "Scissorhand" became a name that reflected her identity as a talented and dedicated dressmaker. What started as a name lovingly given to her by her customers eventually became the identity behind her brand.
With more than three decades of experience, Abbi has continued to evolve as a designer and entrepreneur, bringing together the skills, creativity and experience gained throughout her journey.
Her love for fashion and sewing grew into a creative career that allowed her to design, create and dress women in pieces that celebrate individuality, confidence and personal style. Over time, that passion expanded beyond clothing into styling, beauty, personal shopping, events, education and entrepreneurship.
She has experienced the highs of building businesses and the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur. There have been successful chapters, difficult chapters and moments when starting again was necessary.
But every chapter has shaped the woman and creative entrepreneur she is today.
Abbi Scissorhand is not simply a name she created — it is a name that was given to her, earned through her craft and carried forward into the next chapter of her journey.
The Reinvention

Abbi understands that reinvention is not failure. Sometimes life changes the direction you thought you were taking. Sometimes a business chapter ends. Sometimes you have to step back, reassess and decide what still feels true to you.
Rather than allowing difficult chapters to define her, she has continued to evolve — bringing everything she has learned into the next chapter.
Today, she is returning to the areas where her creativity has always been strongest: fashion, beauty, styling, image and personal expression. But she is not returning as the same woman.
